Injuries changed how I train, but they didn’t stop me.
I get it. The setbacks. The frustration. The fight to stay strong when your body feels like it’s working against you.
- Dr. Andrea Perez, DPT

Why I started Stay Strong Physical Therapy

When I say “stay strong,” I don’t just mean lifting weights. I mean finding your strength again, after an injury, after a setback, even when it feels out of reach. I’ve had to do that myself, and now I help others do the same.
In this video, I talk about why I started this practice, how I connect with my patients, and why I believe everyone, no matter where they’re starting, can find their way back to strength.
How I work
After we wrap up your 90-minute evaluation session, I’ll walk you through my recommendations. Every recovery plan is personalized to your body, your goals, and how your system responds to treatment. But in general, the road to recovery follows a clear progression.

Calm it
When you’re in pain, your body’s first job is to protect. Muscles tighten, movements compensate, and your system becomes reactive. In this early phase, I focus on:
Relieving symptoms.
Restoring comfort.
Giving your nervous system time to settle.

Move it
Once pain is under control, we zero in on restoring the way your joints, muscles, and tissues move. Depending on your personalized plan, that might mean:
Improving mobility.
Rebuilding natural movement.
Restoring trust in motion.

Strengthen it
Strength is what helps you stay out of pain. We don’t rush this phase. Starting heavy too soon can aggravate healing tissues or re-trigger old compensation patterns. Once your body's ready, we build strength gradually, so you can:
Move with control.
Lift with confidence.
Feel more resilient overall.
